Governance and Judiciary all-in-one with The Shadow Court

Although The Dark Lord of Shadows is the single ruling authority of The Shadow Spirit Realm, he recognises that people generally prefer a more democratic approach, so he formed The Shadow Court.

What is The Shadow Court and what does it do?

The Shadow Court is the governing and judicial authority of The Shadow Spirit Realm. It oversees the realm's laws, rights and policies and hears petitions, disputes, appeals and other matters requiring formal judgement.

The Shadow Court is divided into four jurisdictions:

  • The Shadow Court of Protection
  • The Shadow Court of Creation
  • The Shadow Court of Judgement
  • The Shadow Court of Justice

Each of these jurisdictions is overseen by a Shadow Judge.

Shadow Judges make rulings within their jurisdictions while Shadow Executors are appointed to carry out their decisions. Members of The Inner Circle of Shadow sit above The Shadow Court and may exercise authority across all jurisdictions.

The way The Shadow Court works is like this:

  1. The Shadow Court receives information for consideration, usually in the form of petitions that anyone can send in.
  2. A public hearing is scheduled under the relevant jurisdiction.
  3. The hearing is held on the stream channel.
  4. Anyone can take the stand to provide submissions for or against the petition.
  5. The presiding Shadow Judge (or judges if there's more than one on the bench) will make a ruling in accordance with Shadow Realm Laws & Rights while tempering their judgement with the substance of the submissions.
  6. Rulings are posted on the relevant jurisdiction page of that Shadow Court.

Who are members of The Shadow Court?
