The Den Rules

The Den by Definition:

The Spirit Den (or just “Den” for short) is the collective of protected domains of The Shadow Spirit Realm. They are the places that people congregate inside the realm. These include:

  • Shadow Syndicate (Habbo)
  • The Shadow Spirit Den (Discord)
  • The Chat of Stream (Twitch)
  • Any other place that the realm claims as a protected domain.

They are places to relax, create content, collaborate, make friends and share ideas in a safe, friendly and non-threatening environment. These rules exist to protect the den and maintain peace. Breaking them may result in warnings, time-outs, or permanent bans.

These laws define right and wrong behaviour that is tolerated inside The Den.

A. Access

  1. Account Security

    You are responsible for securing your own account. The Shadow Court cannot accept responsibility for compromised accounts. Two-factor authentication is strongly recommended.

  2. Sharing Accounts

    Account sharing is strictly forbidden. If someone else uses your account and breaks The Den Rules, enforcement actions may not be reversed. Encourage others to create and use their own account.

  3. Appropriate Access

    If you are granted special permissions (e.g. moderator or administrator access), you must use that access responsibly and only for its intended purpose.

P. Personal

  1. Real-World Contact

    The Den must not be used to arrange in-person meetings. Attempting to identify, track, expose, or speculate on another member’s real-world location is strictly forbidden.

  2. Personal Information

    Never share or request:
    • Phone numbers
    • Addresses (home, work, school)
    • Bank or payment details
    • Identification numbers
    • Vehicle registrations
    • Private social accounts
    • Any sensitive data

  3. Confidentiality

    Private conversations and sensitive information must remain private. Sharing another member’s personal or confidential information without consent is forbidden.

B. Behaviour

  1. Respectful Interaction

    All interactions must remain friendly and respectful. Insults, slander, harassment, or targeted hostility are not permitted. Humour is acceptable only when clearly mutual and appreciated. If someone expresses discomfort, it must stop.

  2. Intentional Conduct

    Shadelings must contribute positively. Trolling, bullying, manipulation, scamming, hating or any destructive behaviour will result in permanent removal.

  3. Inclusion & Acceptance

    Discrimination or disrespect toward race, culture, nationality, disability, sexuality, gender, appearance or personal characteristics is strictly forbidden.

  4. Order & Anti-Disruption

    Disruptive behaviour is not allowed, including:
    • Spam
    • Repeated messages
    • Excessive self-promotion
    • Commercial advertising
    • Posting in incorrect channels
    • Joining solely to send unsolicited DMs

  5. Decent Exposure

    This is not an adult-only community. Sexual content, explicit conversations, or graphic descriptions are forbidden regardless of whether minors are present.

  6. Medieval Barbarity

    Advocating or glorifying real-world:
    • Death
    • Graphic violence
    • Sexual violence
    • Torture
    • Terrorism
    • Warfare
    • Slavery
    • Capital punishment
    • Judicial mutilation

    …or similar severity content is forbidden and will likely result in immediate banning.

  7. Animal Protection

    Advocating harm toward animals will result in immediate bans.

  8. Language Transparency

    English must be used for moderation transparency. Non-English phrases must include an English translation.

  9. Context Integrity

    Intentionally misrepresenting another Shadeling's words or actions to create hostility is forbidden.

  10. Moderation Directives

    If given a direction or enforcement action by authorised moderators, it must be respected. Publicly disputing moderation decisions may escalate enforcement.

C. Content

  1. Safe Sharing

    All shared content must be safe and not cause technological, psychological, reputational or physical harm.

  2. PG Standard

    All content must meet a PG standard or higher. Explicit, graphic, or adult-only material is not permitted.

  3. Ownership & Credit

    You may only claim ownership of content you legitimately own. If sharing others’ content, proper credit must be given. Plagiarism or misrepresentation may result in moderation action.

R. Rights

  1. Protection of Shadeling Rights

    Any behaviour, content or initiatives that violates the Rights of Shadelings as stipulated in Realm Rights is forbidden and is subject to be judged by The Shadow Court.

E. Enforcement

  1. Enforcement Authority

    The Shadow Court reserves the right to use technical and human moderation measures to uphold The Den Rules.

    The Shadow Court reserves full discretionary authority to:
    • Refuse admission
    • Remove or restrict access
    • Enforce rules for conduct occurring outside The Shadow Spirit Realm where such conduct impacts community safety
    • Investigate suspicious activity
    • Report illegal conduct to relevant authorities (yes, that means the police)
